Multi-instrumentalist and founding member of experimental psych ensemble Sungod, Michael C. Sharp plunges deep into his innermost kosmische realm on the new single “Motor Pt. 2: White Lines.” Referencing the classic krautrock “Motorik” drum pattern, the relentless, upbeat rhythm section of “Motor Pt. 2” drives through a hypnotic torrent of delay drenched guitar riffs and warm analog synth tones. Featuring contributions from fellow Sungod co-founder Braden Balentine, Sharp slowly builds layers of pulsing bass, arpeggiated sequences and searing leads, culminating into a cacophonous melange of energy. This enveloping tide of sonic expansion has become the signature sound of Sharp’s prolific output and is once again superbly encapsulated on “Motor Pt. 2: White Lines.”
