Channeling the soundscape building techniques of krautrock and ambient music greats, Austin-based experimental artist Michael C. Sharp is back with a new cosmic odyssey entitled “An Exquisite Aberration.” As Sharp’s prolific output of loop-based synth and guitar explorations continue to evolve, this song brazenly plunges even further into the abstract.
Somber guitar chords roam in and out of focus as layers of analog synthesizer entangle and eventually submerge the track into a pool of warm, effects-driven tones. With his ever-expanding cast of sounds and post production by Sungod band mate Braden Balentine, Michael C. Sharp offers a beautifully refined piece of studio inspiration with “An Exquisite Aberration.”
